to sustainability
Volcke Aerosol is committed to the sustainable development of our business. We recognise the importance of the economic, social and environmental pillars of sustainability and how our successes in each can contribute towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These and the key principles of corporate responsibility as outlined in the ISO:26000 standard, form the framework for our strategy for sustainability.
As an aerosol innovator and filler, we are fully invested in providing products that are safe, high in quality and sustainable. We also want to be 'Good People' to work with, demonstrating a clear social responsibility and strong ethical awareness.
Our environmental impact, regulatory and business compliance are key elements of our culture and risk management policies.
Our sustainability goals include:
- Monitoring and reducing our company carbon footprints
- Reducing waste levels and achieve zero waste to landfill
- Minimise VOC emissions
- Support industry associations to realise sustainability opportunities
- Increase the recyclability of our product range
- Improve and maintain safety standards in our factories
- Raise Human Rights awareness and performance throughout our value chain
To quantify our approach and align with reporting requirements we use ESG criteria (Environmental, Social, Governance) to set objectives and key process indicators for our three companies.
Environmental
- We measure and monitor the carbon footprint at each of our factories annually and have disclosed to CDP related to Climate Change.
- ISO:14000 certified for Environmental Management Systems at VA BE and preparing for certification at VA IT and VA UK
- Since 2024, each Volcke Aerosol factory purchase and use electricity from 100% renewable energy mix.
- Investigating the opportunities of setting Science Based Target for scope 1 & 2 emissions reduction and pursuing certification to ISO50001 Energy Management Systems.
As a leading developer and manufacturer of aerosol products, we are dedicated to operating in a way that contributes towards a healthier community and planet, that sustains our future.
Social
We have established a company Code of Conduct / Codice Etico as a standard for behaviour and performance, supported by a Human Rights policy.
We have activated our company 'Integrity Line', a secure whistleblowing service for employees and stakeholders to raise concerns, securely and anonymously.
Governance
All our production sites are members of SEDEX and each company participates in SMETA 4 pillar audits covering labour standards, health and safety, environmental performance, and business ethics.
We are preparing a program of certification to ISO:45001 occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, as the standard for our factories.
